WRITTEN IN FOND MEMORY AND LOVE BY SISTER RAMONA MOBLEY CREWS: Elder Archie Dale Mobley was born July 27, 1925, to Robert Sherrill and Bessie Dale Speight Mobley in Afton, Texas. He was the youngest of seven children. He married Ramona Turner on Nov. 28, 1948, at Spade, Texas. They had four children: two sons—Gary Dale and Galen Odis—and two daughters—Sharon Kay and Cynthia Ann. Archie joined the Portales, New Mexico, Church in 1947. He soon moved to Lubbock, Texas, where he joined the Lubbock Church and started to exercise for the ministry. He then moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico, and joined the Quay Church. He was ordained to preach on Nov. 1, 1953, at Quay Church. He was called to pastor that church, where he served for several years. He and his wife moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1954, and the Albuquerque Church was organized in July 1955. He pastored that church from 1955 to 1970. One of the highlights in his life was during the August Association in 1962, when 27 people came into the church, and he had the privilege of baptizing his own two children, Gary and Sharon Kay. Archie also served as Pastor of the Clovis and the Roswell Churches. He was always ready and willing to help people with their problems. He enjoyed visiting churches in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, California, Oregon, and Washington.
