I was born October 15, 1958 to Russell and Betty Jo Herrin in Folkston, Georgia. I am married to Sherry Murray Herrin, we have been blessed with three children and seven grandchildren. My Father and both my Grandfathers served as deacons in the Primitive Baptist Church. I was raised attending the Primitive Baptist Church. I don’t really know why but always said when I grew up that I would never be a Primitive Baptist. We attended and joined with Missionary Baptist for many years. Then in the beginning of 2007 God began to burden my heart. It just felt like I was being led back to the Primitive Baptist. I had just gotten tired of trying to explain away the doctrines of Grace and Election and came under conviction by God just to accept the Bible as it was written. Long story short, we joined Mars Hill Primitive Baptist Church the first weekend of December 2007. God had been dealing with me for a long time about preaching. He just had to get me where He wanted me first. The church liberated me in July of 2014 and ordained me in August 1,2015. I was called to be the pastor of Mars Hill Primitive Baptist Church the first Sunday of 2018.
