Jerry E. Wilkinson was born on January 1, 1943, in Memphis, TN, to Robert Lee, Jr. “R.L.” and Marguerite Fortune Wilkinson. He served as the pastor of Gum Log Primitive Baptist Church in Bailey, MS. He loved singing gospel music and had actively sang since the age of 15. From our sermon recording you can hear his quality deep voice which made him an outstanding singer. In addition to his love for church, Jerry worked in education for 15 years, with Chevron for 18 years as a trainer, and lastly worked at Southwest MS Community College where he developed the Process Technology Program and served as an adjunct instructor. He also enjoyed going to Ole Miss football games. Obituary - Elder Dr. Jerry E. Wilkinson (January 1, 1943 - January 30, 2017) On January 20, 2017, Elder Dr. Jerry E. Wilkinson passed away with his loving family by his side at his residence in Madison. He was laid to rest at the Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Meadville, MS. Survivors are his wife of 42 years, Kay Priest Wilkinson; daughters, Dawn Wilkinson Tisdale and husband Kirk of Ellisville, MS, and Kelly Wilkinson Brooks of Madison, MS; grandchildren, Brianna Tisdale Langley and husband Dustin, Trey Tisdale and Kenley Dillon Brooks; great grandchild, Marshall Langley; extended family, Jan Burr Coleman and Caleigh Corban; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
