Sermon Summary

Elder Leon H. Clevenger, ordained 1911, was pastor of Mt.Vernon PB Church in Kansas City, Mo., and preached this sermon while on appointments in Maryland & Pennsylvania. This sermon was delivered in the 1960's during Elder Compton's pastorate at Landmark Church in Pennsylvania.

"Elder Clevenger passed from this life on January 10, 1980 two months shy of his 100th birthday. He preached the gospel for over seventy years. As well as preaching, he was an accomplished writer of Christian articles, writing for several Baptist publications. He was also known as a songwriter. His songs "Counsel" and "Traveler" are well loved."(from the 'Ministers' section)

In this sermon, Elder Clevenger compares the burning bush and it's characteristics to the church of God. Nothing in this bush, naturally, was appealing to mankind. But God blessed it by His presence. We hope you will be blessed in your personal devotions as you listen to this sermon.
