Sermon Summary

In a day when gender neutrality is a popular notion, and when the lines between what is popular and the standards that have passed the test of time, this sermon reinforces Biblical manhood. While the admonition mentions men in particular, both in this text and in general, the sermon reflects Christian qualities in all persons both male and female. Another words the whole man. The irony is, as the world blends manhood and womanhood after the image of a non Biblical identity which erases certain characteristics pertinent to natural creation, Christianity blends qualities of like-Christness in both males and females, enhancing and enriching lives the way God created them.

For instance, The sermon does not high light physical characteristics but spiritual aspects. Setting forth the Lord, the God-Man, as an example, Elder Lawrence reflects on the accomplishments of the man Christ Jesus. In addition, he shows that Courage, Integrity, Truthfulness, Honesty and Boldness are Biblical man-like qualities.

Elder Steve Wilkinson opens this service with prayer specifically that God would lead, direct and liberate. That prayer was answered. We recorded that wonderful prayer for you, it is listed in Steve Wilkinson's messages in the sermon section of this site.
