Sermon Summary

Preached at Little Vine PB church - Texas

Elder Mark Richards shares the joy of fellowship among the brethren, reflecting on the church's present blessing.

Paul had a deep pastoral love for the churches within his bonds. He was thankful for the fellowship of the brethren. Jesus Himself was a shepherd-pastor as He cared for the sheep. Fellowship in the gospel gave Paul confidence in the Lord. His love is the prime mover, and as a result, we love others.

Fellowship is a witness to God's love in the hearts of His people. It is the sweetness of the joy in believing among our kindred in Christ.

The Vine and Branches speak to our living in Christ. It promotes not only fellowship but personal relations with our Savior. We feed off Christ, the Living Word. Daily spiritual needs are met through abiding in the Lord and keeping His word. And thus, we bear fruit that glorifies Him; our works authenticate the presence of Christ. Without Jesus - we can do nothing, and our works are worth nothing but burning. Branches must be connected at one end and fruit at the other!
