Samuel Bryant

FROM THE BIOGRAPHCAL HISTORY OF PRIMITIVE OR OLD SCHOOL BAPTIST MINISTERS BY DAVID MONTGOMERY AND MARK GREEN: ELDER SAMUEL BRYANT Elder Bryant was born to Elzie and Ruby Bryant on December 5, 1948, and was raised on a farm in Twiggs County, Georgia. He was the youngest of 17 children. His father was a Primitive Baptist minister for 42 years and pastored several churches in central Georgia. His mother was a faithful and devoted wife and mother and a strong supporter of the Primitive Baptist Church. Samuel had no interest in spiritual things until he was about 14 years old. He came under a strong conviction of sin during that time and came to see through the gospel that Jesus Christ was his only hope. He joined Cool Springs Church in Twiggs County, Georgia, when he was 15. He was licensed to preach when he was 16 and ordained to the ministry when he was 18. He has served a number of churches in Georgia. The first church he served was Ephesus at Juliet, Georgia. He then served Mt. Horeb near Cochran. When he was 21, he was called to serve Bethlehem Church in Statesboro. He moved to Statesboro, Georgia,and lived there for 15 years. While he lived in Statesboro, he also pastored Hebron Church at Garfield and New Hope at Lixy, Georgia. When he was 37 years old, he was called to serve the church of his childhood, Cool Springs near Danville, Georgia. He and his family moved to central Georgia where they now live. He also served the August Old Line Church in Martinez, Georgia, for nine years. He is presently living in Allentown and serving Cool Springs and Trail Branch. He was married to Pamela White of Independence, Missouri, in May of 1972. They were blessed to have two precious daughters born to them, Betsy Ann and Amanda Grace.
