Dale Magers
Minister Profile
Elder Dale Eugene Magers 1927 – 2006
Was born on 10 Sep. 1927 in Oklahoma. He was a schoolteacher and had great respect from preacher friends for his Scriptural knowledge. He was pastor at Corpus Christi Primitive Baptist Church.
Elders who have served as pastor of the Corpus Church have included Elder Chris Blevins, Elder Mark Rowell, Elder Mike Montgomery, Elder Bill Walden, Elder J.P. Dale, Elder Dale Magers, Elder Jasper Chambers, Elder Joe Morgan, and the first pastor was Elder Joel Martin.
Brother Magers was good friends with Elder Bill Walden. If you read Brother Walden’s profile, he came to the Primitive Baptists from an independent denomination after the Lord impressed gospel truths upon him; Magers and others were likely influenced as well and became Primitive Baptists. Some history is mentioned in [www.texashistory.unt.edu], “Yoakum Community: The First Hundred Years 1887-1987,” under the heading “Stratton.”
Brother Magers died on 11 Feb. 2006 (aged 78) in Tarrant County, Texas.
