From the Biographical History of Primitive or Old School Baptist Ministers, Vol II, by David Montgomery and Mark Green, 2001.

Elder W.A. Bishop was the son of J.D. Charity A. Bishop. He was born on October 17, 1872, in Fayette County, Tennessee. His mother was a Primitive Baptist, and his father was a strong believer but never united with the church.

Elder Bishop received a hope in Christ in the Spring of 1894, after which he united with the Mt. Pisgah Church in Fayette County, Tennessee. He was baptized by Elder D.J. Chambers.

He was ordained a deacon and, in 1904, a minister. The Presbytery consisted of D.J. Chambers, J.C. Sammons, and J.W. Wilson.

He placed his church letter at Robin Street Church in Jackson, Tennessee, in 1922.

Elder Bishop died August 31, 1955.

NOTE: Need a headset to have a better experience in hearing sermons which were recorded in the 1950's, (Side 1 and 2).
