Funeral services for Elder Floyd Wilkinson will be on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Smithdale, MS, at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Elder Luke Addison and Elder P.J. Walters will be officiating the services with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Elder Wilkinson passed from this life on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Southwest Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born on August 3, 1926 in Franklin County to Mr. Earl Wilkinson and Mrs. Lillie Dillon Wilkinson. Elder Wilkinson was employed as a mechanic by Franklin County Schools for twenty six (26) years. He was ordained as pastor October 30, 1960, and pastored Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church for fifty six (56) years. Preceding him in death were his parents, Earl Wilkinson and Mrs. Lillie Dillon Wilkinson; wife, Marie Sharp Wilkinson; brothers, Earl Wilkinson Jr., Leroy Wilkinson, and John Henry Johnston; sisters, Ammie Allred, Nannie Bell Allred, Marie Pickering, Rhoda Thornton, Bessie Mae Gill and Mattie Jones.
