Johnnie L. Duggins was born May 22, 1932 in Mayodan, North Carolina. He was drafted into the United States Army, February 1953, during the Korean War. Prior to his departure in the Army he had a desire to be baptized. On the 3rd weekend of May, 1953, Brother Duggins asked for a home with Cedar Grove Primitive Baptist Church and was baptized. Elder Duggins writes, “The Deacons knew I had a burden and asked if I wished tell it to the church before I returned to the Army. When liberty was granted the Lord blessed me with power and Spirit to preach and the burden was relieved.” On August 15th, 1953 Brother Duggins was ordained to the full work of the Gospel ministry. That same weekend he married his girl, Becky and to date have enjoyed 58 years together. Since his ordination, Elder Duggins has served several churches and blessed to visit many churches in different parts of the country until his health hindered him. He writes, “I thank God for His blessings to worship Him and be with His wonderful people, and someday He will give me a home in Heaven.” July 2011
