Picture - Elder Dwayne Fletcher & wife, Sister Janice - taken at Wilmington Church.
Elder Fletcher was the son of Elder W.G. Fletcher who himself was a pastor and editor of many articles among church publications.
Elder Dwayne Fletcher served several churches in Virginia; Upperville and Bethel-Washington. He also served Wilmington Church in Delaware. Faithful to the cause, he traveled and labored extensively for churches and meetings on a regular basis.
Brother Fletcher graduated from University of Maryland at College Park, was a College Football standout and also served in the Military. He was also an accomplished business man as an owner of a Nursing Home.
As a young man he was not so much interested in church but went to many meetings because his dad was a popular preacher. But ultimately the Lord had greater plans for Brother Dwayne once he was spiritually arrested and called by God's sovereign grace to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Then, the church and preaching became his passion and interests until such time the Lord called him home.
He died on August 24th, 2003. He was buried with military honors at Veterans Cemetery, Culpeper, Virginia.
"O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together." - Psalm 34:3
