Sermon Summary

Elder Roy McIntyre preaches on the doctrine of the resurrection. He had a wonderful gift to preach. He was pastor of Goose Creek church in Markam, Virginia and on occasion was able to visit the churches in Maryland as he makes comment in his preliminaries.

This sermon is given to the subject of the resurrection from the book of Acts 24:14-15 and 1 Cor. chapter 15. It is a passionate and positive affirmation to his belief in the bodily resurrection through the power of God. You can tell he was motivated by two things in this sermon, the fact that the word of God is true and God is able, and secondly, his disturbance that some he personally knew did not believe in this foundational Bible doctrine.

In this sermon he also underscores that the gospel will not raise us, but God. He says the gospel manifest what God will do for us and that the power of the gospel is for this time world.

Elder McIntyre loved this truth, most likely for another reason. He was plagued with a bad heart and knew his time on earth was short. His spiritual and new heart however was full of love and care for the people of God. He passed away not long after this sermon was preached on April 3, 1995.
