Sermon Summary

Elder Vernis Stanaland preaches this sermon at the Bethel PB church's annual meeting in Nashville.

The sermon is presented from both a doctrinal and practical Scriptural perspective. Beginning with the point that election is not a "cold and calculated decision." But unconditional election is based on God's love.

He further elaborates on this choice as being personal and individualistic. He uses various illustrations and personal analogies.

After speaking about God's love for us he then proceeds on our Love to Him as he goes full circle and brings in the Apostle Peter's experience as recorded in John 21, "Lovest thou me?"

He applies this lesson to the church at Ephesus and to our churches today by asking, "Are we knit together in God's love?"

Wonderful message. Brother Vernis has a unique gift for storytelling.

(I can tell you the children gravitate toward his preaching. I played this sermon for my 13-year-old son, and he loved it.[Ed.])
