Sermon Summary

Brother Isaac in this sermon will have his hearers view a still-picture of the Lord, just the way the Scriptures present Him.

Instead of packaging a baby-Jesus with humility he sets forth the Lord of glory as King. One in whom the government rests upon His shoulders.

Too often our world loves a Jesus who plays Santa Clause in terms of modernity and materialism. In this sermon, Brother Isaac begins with the contrast of an ever-changing world. No matter how scientific and technologically advanced the world becomes, there is always change. Not so with Christ! He is the same redeemer today as He was first presented at His first advent. But today the picture we see is not of a nativity set but of our High Priest who came to save His people and then said, "It Is Finished?" It is special to view His humility, but never at the expense of the over ruling purpose for which He was born in the flesh.

The thrust of Elder Guess's sermon is that Christ came with purpose and in power of the Spirit, to accomplish all that the Father gave Him to do.

Instead of isolating the incarnation, we must discern the Scriptures in presenting Christ for which He was born, "to make reconciliation for iniquity."

Thank God that every year when Christmas comes around it reminds us to first consider the words of God concerning His own beloved Son, whom He called, "Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
