He had been preaching expository messages from Revelation on the Seven Churches of Asia, each with its circumstances relative to the illustrations in each context.
The particular historical backdrop of the Philadelphia church was their memory of the devastating earthquake of AD 16 and the tremors that followed. (Philadelphia has often, through the years, suffered from earthquakes and volcanic eruptions).
However, there was set before this faithful church an open door.
A LOOK BACK AT THE RECENT PAST COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
In this sermon, the message, though preached more than ten years ago, would fit perfectly to the occasion when many fears due to the COVID-19 pandemic gripped people across the world and especially felt among those churches closed from government regulation.
We were assured that God, who built His church and sustains His church, put this enemy under His feet quickly.
How did Elder Holder answer that question in this sermon? Every church and individually, was to “hold fast.â€

Brother Holder will say, “Peace and contentment are not in external circumstances but despite external circumstances.†The promises given to the church of Philadelphia are timeless to the stability and security through obeying God’s words.
