Sermon Summary

This sermon was delivered at Montview Church, North Carolina in May, 1968. Elder Darity uses verses 12-13 in this experiential application of Isaiah's prophecy of the judgment, deliverance and restoration of the people of Judah.

In this case the Lord's exiled people of Israel were beat down like fruit fell to the ground and gathered by the Lord one by one. This tearing down is a work of grace that is a forerunner to restoration. These prophetic Scriptures have their ultimate fulfillment in the Gospel day as children of God are delivered from their attachment to Egypt; the world, and through the Gospel trumpet or calling, find strength and encouragement to serve and trust the Lord in the Church of God. A Prominent theme in Elder Darity's messages is that the calling to Bible truth is important as the calling to see the beauty of God's spiritual kingdom on earth, the church.

Elder Darity makes another case for spiritual application of Isaiah's prophecy now in the New Testament dispensation of Grace in contrast with a literal fulfillment in a period yet future.

Sermon runs just over 39 minutes. In the picture to the right, Elder Darity is on top row, 7th from left.
