Sermon Summary

This Message was delivered at the 2009 Ministers Fellowship, hosted by Shoal Creek Church in Georgia.

Elder Harvey speaks to the integrity and superiority of the KJV English. That the KJV English is modern English and the foundation of our modern day syntax. In other words, it has not changed since Shakespeare! Yes, word choice has changed but not sentence structure. And if one understands grammatical structure of the English one can be in a better position to rightly divide the Word. He does not suggest one must be a professional English teacher, but if we neglect or misuse proper syntax we stand to be wrong in interpretations.

Elder Harvey will use many illustrations from the scriptures to discuss proper historical word definitions, proper pronoun usages, verb tenses such as the present passive, present progressive, prefect tenses and prepositional phrases. He covers many different Bible texts which are often misunderstood because of grammatical error. He says this is a ‘lecture’ but with all the scriptures presented it’s a powerful sermon!

If you teach the Bible, or a Bible student, this is a must hear. The message is presented in an easy to understand format with humor and anecdotes. Length is 1:04 Hr.

Gary is a Pastor and English Teacher.

We want to thank Elder Randall Cagle for the copy of this message.
