Sermon Summary

On This Memorial Day - 2017, we wanted to remember all our Veterans who have given their last measure of devotion. We also remember others, such as Elder Rommie Williams, a Vietnam War Veteran, who served churches in North Carolina, until his passing on May 18, 2016.

The following is from our history section about this faithful servant:

"Elder Williams served in the United States Marines from October 1965 until October 1969. He served in active duty in Vietnam from October 1966 to November, 1967. On June 12, 1967, Elder Williams was wounded, being hit in the neck with rocket shrapnel. He was awarded a Purple Heart, a presidential citation, and was named an expert rifleman."

We would like to highlight not only his service to our country but also highlight this message on this great Scripture recorded in 1 Timothy 3:16.

The Lord has left God's children with the Gospel record that certifies various truths that are "without controversy." No amount of objection has ever successfully disqualified these truths from sacred writ. Praise the Lord we have the witness to the truth. And we thank God for the valiant men who fought to keep the USA safe and free, a land of liberty, where Christians have enjoyed the freedom to worship God according to His Word without threat. I know we have much to pray for as we look across this great land, but we can say that up to this point, the brave men and women of the military have done a tremendous sacrifice in preserving our country. Lets hope that God continues to keep us safe and free.
