Sermon Summary

Elder Harris's message centers on the Gospel, which he says, "is the story of God and what he has done." He also says the Gospel has "core truths" which concern the promises of God in Christ.

He says the Gospel is God's primary means by which God connects our minds to him. He contrast that with the new birth by which the elect are in vital connection to God.

Beginning in Galations chapter 1, Elder Harris preaches his message to us, which he says, are "complex creatures" and are in need of knowledge and understanding in the things of God.
He looks at some key points regarding the Gospel from the Old Testament, which he says the New Testament unfolds, like spiritual death and what that means to mankind in general and to the born again child of God. The natural man is not interested in the Gospel of God. This seems to be a defining mark of Old Baptist preaching, an understanding that not all men respond to the Gospel call because of spiritual death. That does not prohibit us in its declaration, but educates us that the Gospel is a spiritual message to the spiritual mind.
