Sermon Summary

Elder Barry Cordes of Talladega, Alabama, first opens by sharing with many who have met him for the first time some of his family & church history. He then enters upon his sermon text from Isaiah 63:1-3.

He explains the questions and answers that the prophet spoke of. In that day many did not realize who it was the prophet spoke. Even the Lord's own disciples demonstrated doubt and confusion in their day. Then he contrasts these experiences with those today who have been mightily blessed to believe in Jesus Christ though we have not seen Him.

He brings in the beauty of being "pricked in the heart" by the Holy Spirit in contrast with being "cut to the heart." Then, he speaks to our being helped by the Lord in our weaknesses & needs. He goes on to encourage the Lord's people to be responsible in what they have in Christ.

Brother Barry's gentleness and love for the brethren is felt both in and out of the pulpit. He is an example to all ministers by the things he both says and does.

May the Lord bless you as you listen in.
