Sermon Summary

THIS SERMON WAS PREACHED AT THE 2005 SOUTH TEXAS CAMP MEETING.

The subject of this message by Elder Mark Green is 'Keeping The Gospel Free.' He says in order for the Gospel to remain pure it must be free and not chargeable. Elder Green begins his sermon with a history lesson beginning at the year 1792 when the first Baptist Mission Board was formed. He quotes men of that era like Elder John Taylor and Elder Joshua Lawrence of the Kehukee Association in regards to their thinking and why chiefly many Baptist's were opposed to these practices, because they said, it "was all about money." He illustrates the fact that the majority of our people were poor and the early ministers were devoted to preaching without charge.

After a detailed History lesson Elder Green then begins his message on 2 Cor 8:9 speaking about Christ, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor. This is a great message.

We want to recognize the Web Site of the Stephenville Primitive Baptist Church of Erath County Texas, Elder Bill Allen Pastor, for this recording.
