Sermon Summary

HAPPY 79th BIRTHDAY ELDER SONNY PYLES, FEBRUARY 22nd. Sonny Pyles continues to preach & pastor for the church at Medlan Chapel in Graham, Texas. Medlan Chapel is located 8 miles southwest of Graham on Medlan Chapel Road off Highway 67.

In this sermon Elder Sonny Pyles speaks on a popular notion referred to as the “Deutero-Isaiah” theory. But listen in as he shows how the lord himself quotes the prophet Isaiah. So often the higher critics of the Bible make certain assertions concerning what they think the Bible means before they understand what it says. Most Bible students today study the Bible through various filters. I can understand because the Bible may be difficult and we have a tendency to latch on to certain labels and phrases simplifying the message. However in the process we may dilute what the book says and end up following a man's teaching.

Most of this sermon reflects on the uniqueness of Isaiah's book by using comparisons to the New Testament. Here is a subject made plain by the common sense approach to understanding what the Bible says.

We are grateful for the teaching gift God has given Sonny Pyles. We at PBS.org wish Elder Sonny Pyles a Happy 79th Birthday!

May the Lord add blessings to His Words!
