THIS SERMON WAS PREACHED IN 1997 AT THE SMOKEY MOUNTAIN PRIMITIVE BAPTIST MEETING.

Elder DOYLE HURST preaches this sermon on the humility of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, summed up in the phrase, "He sighed." He contrasts this particular healing, done by a gesture, with the many done by the spoken word. Elder Hurst helps us understand an obscure phrase in the Bible by demonstrating how Jesus came in His Father's name and revealed God's heart toward His people. He said, The agony of Jesus is our hope. And the fact that Christ was not satisfied is the very hope of the child of God because Christ did not wash his hands from this old world and go back to heaven, but He groaned on our behalf. This sermon is filled with great pictures of who Jesus is and how He took care of our greatest need, forgiveness, and then shows how he revealed Himself to His disciples, the very heart of God.
This paragraph can only introduce a subject that Elder Hurst unfolds in his sermon, "He Sighed." In his biography recorded in the 'Ministers' section, you can read of how appreciative this Elder is in being able to preach the gospel! May the Lord bless you!
