Sermon Summary

The sermon was preached while Elder Hunt was visiting the churches of the Bear Creek Association in 1996.

Elder Hunt draws from this picture found in Judges 6:11 of the Angel of the LORD which sat under an oak tree. It was hard times for the nation of Israel at that time. And Gideon began to wonder as to the impoverished conditions of his people. And the promise was given that by Gideon the people would be delivered.

Elder Hunt then speaks to the deliverances of God's children here in this world and encourages those who have been delivered from sin to now "get out from the shade" and "work in the vineyards." This is a short sermon but full of encouragement.

Elder Hunt was widely respected among the Old Baptists, was moderator of the Mt. Zion Association, and the former Governor of Alabama. Elder Hunt died on January 30, 2009. Please read more of his history in the 'Ministers' section.
