Sermon Summary

If you know the difference between immediate and mediate you will begin to see the Biblical distinction between regeneration and conversion.

In this sermon you will learn the difference between conversion & regeneration.

Elder Gowens asserts the fact that the Bible makes that distinction and for good reason! Many people are confused and rightly so because much of what is said, both publically and in print, suggest there is no difference.

Regeneration and conversion are not synonymous! They are uniquely different and one must precede the other. One suggests a radical change in heart & soul, the other suggests an ongoing and repeated work. Learn more by listening in!

Bible characters such as the Ethiopian Eunuch and Cornelius are mentioned and Elder Gowens makes the Biblical observation that they were not simply mere professors of religion but genuinely regenerated prior to their conversion.

This study asserts a primary distinctive of what Primitive Baptist fundamentally believe. At the conclusion of the sermon you will need to continue the study by listening to "Conversion & Regeneration, side 2."

Michael Gowens is director of Sovereign Grace Publications: http://www.sovgrace.net, and Pastor of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, Calabash, NC.
