Sermon Summary

<p>ELDER OBEY NDALIMA died on April 1, 2009, in Kenya, Africa, less than five months after delivering this sermon. He was pictured with his wife, Sister Mary Mwakalonge, who passed away on December 7, 2009.

Elder Obey Ndalima pastored two Primitive Baptist churches in Tanzania and Kenya, Africa. The Lord blessed his labors with some 400 members amongst these churches. He said in this sermon, "Light has shined in Africa."

This sermon was delivered on November 9, 2008, at the Vestavia Primitive Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, where Elder Sam Bryant was the former pastor when Brother Obey first joined on May 16, 2004.

This sermon starts with Brother Obey leading the church in song, singing "Rock of Ages" in Swahili. He shares with us his earnest desire that his people of Africa would be saved from ignorance. He said, "Ignorance is a bad thing; it will put you in many bondages." He said, "When you first see the word 'save' in the Bible, you have to ask yourself - saved from what?" He learned that ignorance would not keep you out of heaven but keep you in the darkness of unbelief.

In other words, when Paul says his heart's desire is that Israel might be saved, there are two important questions one must ask: who is the Israel he speaks of, and what salvation is under consideration?

Brother Obey&nbsp;shares some of his experiences during his ordination service and his first impressions upon joining the church at Vestavia.

The Lord blessed his efforts in bringing this message from Romans 10:1-3, and I hope it will be a blessing to you today.
