<p>Elder Tom MacLaren passed away on May 20, 2019.</p><p>Some History:</p><p>The Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church was constituted on Sunday, April 24, 1960, in St. Helens, Oregon, with twelve charter members. The Presbytery was composed of Elder Daniel Atlelee Layne, Elder Pleasant Roy Stark, and Elder Homer Rush Shamblin, along with Deacons Jenning Aden, J. C. Gardner, J. E. Barns, and W. S. Lawson.&nbsp;&nbsp;Elder Thomas Robert Collier was chosen as pastor.&nbsp;&nbsp;The Church subsequently obtained a meeting house at 821 Deer Island Road off Hwy 30 in St. Helens.</p><p><br></p>
