The occasion of this picture was the ordination of Elder Chuck (Sidney) Smith. June 12, 1993. The location was the then-Landmark Primitive Baptist Church in Rising Sun, MD.

(We have no single picture of Elder Manning Temples.)</p><p>Manning E. Temples was the child of Elder Dent Rountree and Gertrude Durden Temples. He was born in Emanuel County and later moved to Vidalia, Ga. He married Marie Beatrice Taylor on August 2, 1947, and was blessed to live together for 55 years. He served Mt. Carmel PB Church and Bethlehem PB Church of Georgia. He was serving Vidalia Old Line PB Church and Old Canoochee PB Church at the time of his death. He retired from Choo Choo Supply as an accountant for some 25 years.</p><p><u>Obituary: February 9th, 2003.</u></p><p>Manning E. Temples, of Vidalia, age 75, died Sunday, February 9th, 2003, at the Memorial Health University Medical Center of Savannah after a brief illness.</p><p>Elder Manning Temples was a native of Emanuel County, residing in Vidalia most of his life. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1944 and 1945, was ordained in 1950 by the Primitive Baptist Church, and has pastored the Old Line Primitive Baptist Church of Vidalia since 1968 and the Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church near Swainsboro since 1970. Prior to his service in Vidalia and Swainsboro, he served in Indiana and Macon.</p><p>Elder Temples is survived by his wife, Beatrice Temples of Vidalia; one son: Paul Temples of Vidalia; two daughters, Myra Soles of Vidalia and Barbara Hall of Danville; one brother, Jack Temples of New Orleans, LA; three sisters: Gertrude Calhoun of Lyons, Sara Barfield of Macon, and Louise Cook of Vidalia; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. </p><p>Funeral services for Elder Manning E. Temples were conducted on Wednesday afternoon, February 12, at 2 P.M. from Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service Chapel of Vidalia with Elder Gary Hall and Elder Tommy Rountree officiating. Interment and committal followed in Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Swainsboro with Elder Luke Addison and Elder Robert Torrance.</p>
