J.C. Stanaland

FROM THE BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY OF PRIMITIVE OR OLD SCHOOL BAPTIST MINISTERS BY DAVID MONTGOMERY AND MARK GREEN:

ELDER J.C. STANALAND

Elder (J.C.) Judge Columbus Stanaland was born on January 28, 1951, in Foley, Taylor County, Florida.

At the age of eleven, he was baptized at Blue Springs Church, Madison County, Florida by his grandfather, Elder Wesley Columbus Stanaland. He was ordained to the full work of the ministry on April 1, 1990, at Palm Chapel Church, Crestview, Florida. His dear wife, Sister Sarah A. Stanaland, is the granddaughter of the much respected Elder T.C. Mooney of North

Georgia. His initial rejection of his call into the ministry brought much grief to himself and those around him as the mighty hand of God pressed upon him. After submitting, his life has been marked by the typical peaks and valleys of any minister who strives to be faithful to his beloved master, yet he would quickly testify that the Grace of God, with its rich joys, has abundantly filled his life. He is currently serving as pastor of St. Andrew Church in Panama City, Florida.

O B I T U A R Y - Sister Sarah Stanaland

Sarah Angeline (Bullock) Stanaland was gently taken to her Heavenly Home and is now at peace in her Lord and Savior’s almighty arms. Her departure was October 24, 2024.

Sarah was a beloved wife, precious mother, sister, granny, aunt, cousin and sister in Christ Jesus our Lord. She was greatly loved by her family to all who met her. Sarah was a faithful servant of the Lord and dedicated Pastor’s wife. She had a vibrant zeal for doing things for others, and if you ever went to visit with her, you likely left with something. She was highly talented and respected in her professional and personal life. Sarah had many hobbies, such as, sewing, quilting and listening to music. She made it very clear that she was “not afraid to die”, her hope was securely fixed upon the “sure promises” of our Lord.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Rebie Bullock. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband JC; her children, Katrina Salva (Kevin} , Jessica Glass (Tom) Angela Dixon (Brian), Andrea Colvin, Jason Stanaland (Sarah); her siblings, Sandra Smith (Mike), Luther Bullock (Jeni), Sharon Tatum, Lloyd Bullock, as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great grandkids.

Sarah touched many lives with her loving friendship and she will be missed by everyone who knew her.
