James Isaacs

FROM THE BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY OF PRIMITIVE OR OLD SCHOOL BAPTIST MINISTERS BY DAVID MONTGOMERY AND MARK GREEN:
-
The grandson of Elder B. Isaacs, Bro James Isaacs was born June 23, 1951, in Paris, Arkansas. He united with Reveille Church near Magazine, Arkansas, in June of 1969 and was baptized by his grandfather. He was ordained to the full work of the ministry in November 1975 and is presently serving Reveille and Little Vine Churches in Logan County, Arkansas, as pastor. He has served several other churches in central and western Arkansas and they have appreciated his capable ministry.

WRITTEN BY MARK GREEN: Elder Isaacs is a man of considerable natural and spiritual ability. He has served capably in the Magazine community as teacher, principal and superintendent of the school system and has had a positive impact on the lives of a generation of students.

The Primitive Baptists of western Arkansas and many other parts of the county appreciate greatly the gift God has given us in this dear brother. Whether in doctrine, experience or exhortation to duty, he is able to set forth the precepts of God's word in clarity and force. He has few equals in his ability to take a text on the spur of the moment and open up the major points of it in an organized fashion so as to make them appear both interesting and inspiring. His wise counsel has been of great benefit to his fellow-laborers in Christ's vineyard and to all the saints. I have seen him comfort the bereaved with gentleness

and compassion and also stand as boldly in defense of the principles the Primitive Baptists believe as anyone I ever heard. Though he has traveled a good deal and his gift is appreciated across the country, he has been content to serve in the rural areas of our state, which tells of the love and concern that he has for the churches of this part of the country. We trust we are as thankful as we should be to have had him in our midst.
