Don Martin

FROM THE BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY OF PRIMITIVE OR OLD SCHOOL BAPTIST MINISTERS BY DAVID MONTGOMERY AND MARK GREEN.

Elder Martin is the son of Elder K. B. (Kenneth) and Sis Rene Martin; born July 23, 1942 at San Angelo, Texas. He joined the Floydada Church at the associationheld in the Lakeview Community in Floyd County, Texas in August 1955. He married Sandra C. Wright (daughter of Charlie & Mary Wright of Floydada, Texas) in December 1960. Elder Don & Sandra are the parents of two children: a daughter, Terrie Martin Smith, and a son, Charles Martin. Both are members of the Primitive Baptist Church as well as the two grandchildren.

Elder and Sister Martin were members at the Floydada Church from 1955 until 1965 at which time they joined the Muleshoe Church. Don was ordained to the ministry in January 1979 by the Muleshoe Church. He served as pastor of the Tulia Church in Tulia, Texas, from November 1977 until November 1990. In March 1990, the Perryton Church called him as their pastor, where he continues to serve.

Elder Martin has had appointments at Odessa, Texas; Clovis, NewMexico; Perryton, Texas (before being called as pastor); Floydada, Texas;

Borger, Texas.

Elder James Compton (1905 - 2007)
Elder James Compton was the original founder of the 'Gospel of Grace Tape Supply.' His collection of tapes began as he traveled to Church meetings and Associations recording sermons on Reel to Reel. He has maintained this library of sermons faithfully over the years and are now the foundation of PB Sermons. org. This web site is dedicated to Elder James Compton (1905 - 2007)
