H.D. Fulmer

FROM THE BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY OF PRIMITIVE OR OLD SCHOOL BAPTIST MINISTERS BY DAVID MONTGOMERY AND MARK GREEN.

Elder Harvey Deward Fulmer, born Sept 16, 1930 near Scranton, Arkansas to Hurley Sylvester Fulmer and Mary Emaline (Anderson) Fulmer Joined Friendship Primitive Baptist Church Sept. 1945 and was baptized by Elder B. Isaacs. I began exercising in Feb. 1947. My father was an invalid all my life until he died in Dec. 1945.

Because of need for work to help support the family, we moved to NE Arkansas in the fall of 1947 and I began to work to gather a church in the area of Jonesboro. A church was constituted there in 1950 with 17 members. I was ordained and called to pastor the church the day it was constituted. I remained there until the summer of 1953 and the church had grown to 48 members by that time. I married Ruby Lee Griffith Dec. 25, 1950. She was reared in South Logan County but I did not know her until we moved to N.E. Arkansas. We had five children, two born in Arkansas, two in California and one in Georgia.

I have served churches in Arkansas Missouri, California, Tennessee and Georgia.

I now have settled in the area where I was born and started preaching and at the time of this writing am pastoring Friendship Church where I first joined 54 years ago.
