Glenn Blanchard

FROM THE BIOGRAPHCAL HISTORY OF PRIMITIVE OR OLD SCHOOL BAPTIST MINISTERS BY DAVID MONTGOMERY AND MARK GREEN:

ELDER GLENN A. BLANCHARD

Of Melbourne, Florida was born on August 23, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois. He is the son of Clyde and Ruth Blanchard. He was married to his wife Patricia on December 1, 1969. They have one son, Richard. In February 23, 1991 he was ordained at the Pilgrim's Rest Church, Vero Beach, Florida. He is currently the Pastor of New Hope Church, Winter Garden, Florida. Elder Blanchard says, "Having been born and raised in Chicago, I knew nothing of the Primitive Baptist

I was drafted during the Vietnam War and was sent south. While there, I met and married a young lady that was a Primitive Baptist. As the years rolled by I attended church with her on occasion. Since I had been a musician all my life, and was one then, I had many worldly ideas to overcome. I was also involved in politics. On August 14, 1982, I felt the conviction of my sins and asked for a home in the old church. I joined Indian River Church in Winter Beach, Florida. We only met once a month, used the little Lloyd's Hymnal, had no air-conditioning and had about eight members but I knew the doctrine preached there was the truth, and that was more important to me. Later, I moved my membership to Pilgrim's Rest, in Vero Beach, as they were willing to meet more often. I was ordained there on February 23, 1991."

"On November 6, 1994, I accepted the call to pastor New Hope Church in Winter Garden, Florida. One of the greatest blessings in my life has been to watch that church go from 36 members to 79 members in just under five years. I praise God for His blessings on us."
